Based in Barcelona since 2003, ProjecteSD program has been constructed to generate a dialogue between renowned and young artists, and a platform to host and present works of different times and contexts, as a way to priorize artistic value over trends, classifications, nationalities or generations. ProjecteSD has traced a rigorous line of work, a solid yet not predictable program, with the goal of promoting its artists in the international art contemporary scene and to introduce to the Spanish audience international artists.

ProjecteSD has combined a daring exhibition program with a number of significant events that go beyond the conventional exhibition format. The gallery devotes special attention to artist's books and has been engaged in its own publishing work since 2008. Since 2014 ProjecteSD produces limited edition posters for each exhibition held at the gallery designed exclusively by artists as a way to counteract corporate overdesigned manifestations to favour, simplicity and directness.

Ana Jotta and Allen Ruppersberg are two artists of the same generation who share a passion for collecting material from popular culture, including books, printed matter, objects, and texts. References to this found material are a constant feature of their work, as is their interest in drawing, redrawing and arranging it in the form of collages, or reassembling it in various ways. Language is another recurring element in both artists' work.

The central element of the exhibition will be a mural drawing by the Portuguese artist Ana Jotta, created specifically for the occasion, which will serve as a framework for showcasing other works by her and her American contemporary Allen Ruppersberg. This is not a collaborative project, but rather an exercise in bringing together two voices that conceive art as an independent practice, detached from trends and constructed without distinction between art and life.

Allen Ruppersberg (Cleveland, 1944). Lives and works in New York and Santa Monica, USA. Since the late sixties he has been the subject of over 60 solo shows and included in numerous group shows internationally. His works have been presented in a few exhibitions in Spanish public institutions: Allen Ruppersberg. One of Many - Origins and Variants, CAAC, Sevilla (2006); The Great Transformation. Art and Tactical Magic', group show at the Museo de Arte Contemporánea de Vigo (2008); A Theater without theater, group show at the MACBA, Barcelona (2007-2008); Locus Solus. Impressions of Raymond Roussel, group show at the MNCARS (2011-2012), to mention a few.

Ana Jotta (Lisbon, 1946) studied at the Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Lisboa and at the École d'Architecture et d'Arts Visuels de l'Abbaye de la Cambre in Brussels. It was not until the 1980s that Jotta began to devote herself exclusively to the visual arts. Awards such as the Grande Prémio Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, Amarante (2023); Rosa Schapire Art Prize, Freunde der Hamburger Kunsthalle, Hamburg (2017); Prémio AICA (2015) and the Grande Prémio EDP (2013).
