Mikel Escobales (Arrasate/Mondragón, 1991). He completed his studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid in 2013 and obtained a Master’s degree in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture at MNCARS in 2016. He has held solo exhibitions at Raccoon Projects, Barcelona (2025), and Fundación Blueproject, Barcelona (2019), among other venues, and will present a solo exhibition at the San Telmo Museum, Donostia/San Sebastián, in November 2026. He has also participated in group exhibitions at Saceca, Sagunto, and Fabra i Coats: Centre d’Art Contemporani, Barcelona (2024); Okela, Bilbao, and Salón, Madrid (2022); Tabakalera, Donostia/San Sebastián (2021); and Artium, Basque Museum-Centre of Contemporary Art, Vitoria/Gasteiz (2020), among other exhibition contexts.
In 2024, he received the Miquel Casablancas Prize in the artwork category. He has undertaken residencies at the Guggenheim in New York (2022), as part of the Basque Artist Program; Gasworks, London (2021); and Tabakalera, Donostia/San Sebastián (2020).
