Influenced by the avant-garde movements of modern art, Iván Forcadell (Alcanar, 1993) is a multidisciplinary artist who creates from authenticity and expressionism to build a body of work that refers to his true self, his roots, and his perspective. The artist intertwines stories from his childhood in the countryside, folklore, and irony, approaching these themes with harmony and ease; his characteristic fresh and colorful style is a powerful stance in favor of the impact of art and a call for the constant reinvention of the artist, for whom the relationship with their work is the cornerstone of their production. Forcadell finds in the importance of nature and human relationships, and how these relate to his own life, the foundation of his works. For him, honesty in his series is as important as their originality, continuously exploring new techniques and materials while introducing elements of proximity and found objects into his compositions. Forcadell graduated in Design from the EINA University in Barcelona and has had numerous national and international exhibitions, including: “Flux Cutting,” Foco Gallery, Lisbon (2019), “El inicio del segundo acto,” Fundación Lluís Coromina, Barcelona (2019), “Primavera de Escayola,” Centro de Arte Casa de Indias, El Puerto de Santa Maria (2020), and “Un beso, una araña y una flor (Letters to LB),” Random Space, Mahón (2021). The artist's work has been featured in renowned publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, El País ICON, Vogue Spain, El Mundo, and Architectural Digest Spain, among others.
